For a long time, a bass instrument’s “cool factor” didn’t much matter. More important was the sound, which had to be just right and, if the one playing the bass was cool, then that was good enough. The Starplayer Bass now proves, however, that a low-tone instrument can have, in addition to great sound, an extremely cool look as well! This semi-acoustic bass, with its classic guitarmaking craftsmanship, arched top, arched bottom and bent sides, speaks to Duesenberg’s philosophy: to take the best design elements from the golden era of guitar-making and combine them with the most modern, functional equipment features of today for example, Z-Tuners, a fully adjustable saddle, precisely placed bass humbucker, and much more (see technical specifications!).

It’s no wonder that the creme de la creme of international bassists are only too happy to take the stage with this bass, which despite its medium scale (77.5 cm) lays down an extraordinary foundation, while simultaneously providing rich overtones. This bass both sings and swings and it’s a true joy to play!
